Instax Mini 8 Review

As mentioned before I got an Instax Mini 8 camera for Christmas. I thought a review wold be nice ^__^

Instax Mini 8 is an instant camera which means that you put in a film and get out the picture right away, like with the old Polaroid cameras. Compared to Polaroid the pictures taken with this camera are a lot smaller which makes them perfect for scrapbooking
The camera is a available in five different colours: pink, blue, yellow, white and black.

Here you see one of my test-pictures ^^

Besides a film, you will also need batteries to work your Instax Mini. I don't know how long the camera lasts with one pair of batteries for I haven't used it too much yet but I really hope it lasts long. The film is already expensive enough :P

The camera has five settings. Depending on the light of your location you can pick one.

When turning on the camera next to one of the settings you will find a light glowing. That's the suggested setting. The camera comes with instructions on how to take lighter or darker pictures if you need to change the lighting of your pictures.
On the back of the camera you will find the count on how many pictures you have left. A film normally contains 10.

The packaging is cute :3
If you have a little extra money to spend and want especially cute pictures there is film with Sanrio or San-x characters on it available. You can look for it on eBay :)

Altogether I'm very happy with my camera and I can't wait to take it with me when meeting with friends and attending Meet-ups ^^
I feel like I will mostly use it for taking selfies with my friends ^__~

What do you think about instant cameras?
Fun or too expensive?

Goodbye Christmas ~

So Christmas is more or less over. I hope you all had a nice time! This year I was participating in two interesting Christmas activities I wanted to share with you.

Punkangel and I decided to exchange selfmade advent-calendars. During the week they were filled with sweets and on every Sunday and on the 24th there were bigger presents inside. While the one I made for her was gold and Classic Lolita themed, mine was Mori kei themed :)

She made a lot of the things herself. So cute :3
I'm especially happy about the butterfly necklace but I like all the things
( I secretly hope we will do this again next year ;) )

In our local Lolita community we had one of this a Secret Santa games. Of course I had to participate ^^

Apparently the girl who sent me this was completely new to Lolita fashion so she wasn't sure what to give me. Considering this I think she did a good job ^__~

What did you guys get for Christmas?
Tell me in the comments!

Early Doodle Dienstag

I'm sharing these doodles one day to early because tomorrow is Christmas Eve and I most likely will keep the PC turned the off whole day :)

This time I didn't doodle outfits I wore but outfits I dream to wear ~

The one on the top is a dress by Emily Temple Cute which I love so  much but is very unlikely to fit me. Small sizes are small T.T
The outfit in the left corner is likely to happen, I just need to find a nice golden skirt.
The dress on the last outfit doesn't exist (yet)  but I wish I could sew it ._. I found a super cute donut fabric on etsy. Just need to find a good tutorial on sewing babydoll dresses...if there is one ^^''
Any of you who knows one? ^^
If so share it with me :D

 Happy -early- Christmas from

Pages from the Innocent World Anniversary Mook

This week my Innocent World Mook arrived :D As many other Lolitas from Austria I bought it because pictures from the IW Tea Party Vienna are in it. To be honest I was a bit disappointed about that part...they gave the Tea Party only one page with ten mini pictures in rather bad quality :') but therefore the other parts of the Mook impressed me more than I thought they would :D
It's very inspirational with lots of high quality photo-shoots. For those of you who didn't manage to get a copy I recorded a little video showing some of my favourite pages

At the end of the Mook pictures under the theme 'Day by Day' are shown. Besides photos there are also short texts fitting the four seasons.

The Spring one is so cute I wanted to share it:

To find Spring, I jump over puddles, run bare foot and lie on the grass.
I will be happy feeling Spring in the air...
if only in my mind.

Meet-up Memories: Linzer Lolita Meet-up

This Sunday we finally had another Lolita Meet-up here in Linz. Punkangel and I organized it and gosh was I happy that we were actually quite a bunch of people  Normally the Meet ups in Linz run rather small. ^^

That was our group :3 On of the new girls arrived a little later, so she sadly isn't in the group picture.

We went to a Middle Ages themed advent market, drank Christmas Punch and ate at a restaurant.
After that some of us had to leave already :( Those who stayed paid another visit to the advent market and shopped tea at 'Madame Wu' the best tea saloon in the area ^^

Beret - eBay // Wig - Lockshopwigs // Collar - Innocent World // Coat - H&M // JSK - bodyline // Socks - Innocent World // Legwarmers - C&A //

This was my outfit. I love the wig so much but it kept slipping back the whole day even though I pinned it with loads of bobby pins -.-
How do you guys prevent your wig from slipping?

It was a great and funny Meet up. I was happy to meet my friends and enjoyed chatting with the girls I didn't know so well yet ~

The Snow Field - Nostalgia Series Tights

As I stated before I ordered a pair of tights from the indie brand The Snow Field.
I ordered the Nostalgia Series Tights in brown :3

I ordered the tights through storenvy. So there was no direct contact with the seller needed.
I ordered them on the 22nd November and they arrived on 5th December.

I was a bit unsure which size to get. You can choose between XS-M and M-XL. In the description it says that size XS-M is recommended for petite size and M-XL is for people who are taller or plus sized. I consider my height and size to lay somewhere in the middle so I was unsure which one to get.
I decided to pick M-XL because too big would still be better than too small^^
They fit quite well~  they create some folds when I wear them as the tight are so long. But the print looks nice and not too stretched out.

I'm satisfied with the quality of the print. Look at all the beautiful details.

Sadly this part will not be visible when wearing. I think it's so beautiful it could be sold as an own print :O

Overall, I'm very satisfied with my order and as a cutlery-enthusiast I needed to have them  ^__ ~

Dezember Wishlist

This is my wishlist for December which is pretty much my Christmas wishlist ^^
I convinced my mum to buy me an instax mini 8 camera and the tights are also already on their way to me
The other things I hope to buy with my Christmas money. (and I also hope to win a modcloth.com giveaway to get a little discount but yeah ~)

Making this wishlist also reminded me how I made my Christmas wishlists as a child when I wasn't able to write ~ I always cut out pictures from the things I wanted from a catalog and glued them on a paper ^^

What's on your Christmas wishlist?

Japanese models/designers on instagram

If you think that instagram is a boring app where random people post pictures of their food and cats then let me prove you wrong. I love instagram because many quite well known models and designers from Japan have accounts there. Here are the ones I have found so far

@angel_amo

AMO, the well known model who currently designed a collection for the brand Candy Stripper.
AMO's instagram is a mixture of outfit posts, sweets and vintage-y
things.

@kurebayashii

Kurebayashi, who is often seen in streetsnaps and models for the fashion magazine KERA.
Sadly, her instagram is inactive for several weeks now.

@kyarypamyupamyu

I think we all know her. Not really as a model but as singer Kyary gained popularity all over the world. Her instagram is full of her face in all kind of wigs and hairstyles.

@misakoaoki

I discovered Misako's instagram only lately but it seems to be full of cute selcas and odds and ends of her daily life.

@rinrindoll

RinRin, model for Angelic Pretty and KERA who is admired for making it in Japan even though she wasn't born there. On here instagram you will find pics from shootings and events she has been to.

@risa_doll_

To be honest, I only recently found out about Risa. She seems to work at a clothing store called Katie, at least she posts many pictures from there.

@kumamiki

The owner of the brand Party Baby who is featured in this cute video. Selcas and cute food.

The pictures belong to them!

Are you following any Japanese models or designer I have missed out?

Minori/Shironuri appreciation post ~♥

If you haven't lived in a cave the last year you surely heard of it, the infamous Shironuri style. A style seen on Japanese streets that is characterized by a white painted face. Since Tokyofashion did an interview with Shironuri artist Minori on their youtube-channel it also became popular outside of Japan.

Today, Tokyofashion posted another video featuring Minori, and while I haven't been too interested in the style lately, this video made me fall in love with Shironuri again right away.

Minori is just so talented!
I did Shironuri make-up myself once, it was really a pain in the neck -.- High quality products are surely a must to achieve the look!

pictures from tokyofashion.com

Minori isn't the only Shironuri artist but outside of Japan she is known best.
There are actually no rules to Shironuri fashion beside that your face has to be white. So you can pair the fashion with any clothes you might like.

If you want to give Shironuri a try and want to do a similar style to Minori's, use long, layered garments made of light fabrics in light colours.

Here are a few items I recommend for this style.

Impressions of the 'Kunst und Designmarkt' Linz

Today I visited the Art and Design-Market which took place in my area. It was the first time I visited such a fair and I enjoyed it very much

Maqaroon had a booth there. I already knew them from Aninite 2012. I wanted to buy a protection bag for my mobile phone but my phone was to big for them T.T *buhuu*
So I ended up with a cute little lucky pack.

 This is what I got - the ice cram sticky notes are so adorable *o*

Another cute booth. The soaps they sold smelled so good *__*

This booth was by sardaana-henke. They sold this super cute handmade fabric goods. The young lady I talked too (I'm not 100% sure but I think she was the shop owner) was so cute.
They use a lot of fabric from Japan. They have a physical store in Salzburg. Next time I go there I will definitely take a visit to their store! *__*

Look at this heart melting fabric!  It's from Japan but it had German text on it. I got told that Japanese like to use English, French and German text on their products ^__~

I also bought these three pendants at a booth called steinbienchen. I just notice I didn't take pictures of their booth. They use dried flowers for their jewelry - I love it!
They also had this gorgeous pendant with a hot air balloon on but I couldn't afford it T.T

Not at the fleemarket but in front of the building I also saw this:

Furniture and stuff all covered in moss and plants - melting my Mori Girl heart

Summed up, I really enjoyed this event. I love talking with the designers and ask them about how they make the things and stuff ~ There actually was so much more amazing stuff which I haven't taken pictures of!
If you live around Linz you maybe want to visit the market. It's still open tomorrow (17.11.13)!
